to cut or not cut

while i am on the 'new year, new me' kick.. (september is new year for me see earlier post)
when i saw this ad for Madewell with 'it-girl' alexa chung..made me stop and re-think the long locks..plus the bangs are doing it for me...
more gorgeous alexa chung from marie claire, would like to have both of the above outfits..
or..

do i keep the locks long...this ad for ann taylor loft is pretty beautimous! if i keep i am gonna do this trend of dark roots with golden tips..saves me $$$ at the salon..

    I love a hair debate...I always poll everyone I know to help me make up my mind! From the pictures I have seen of you...your hair is quite spectacular...you appear to have that Kate Hudson/calypso model beach wave that I covet so very much...which makes me say please don't cut it. On the other hand I went from long hair to a pixie in April and have never looked back...I am no help. sorry.

    I LOVE long hair, but I keep cutting mine... PrettyStuff just chopped off 4-5! inches and added bangs... I must say she looks so... Fresh! with a new do! It seems to be kinda fun for the shock when she sees her friends back at school too!

    Long. I got about 4 inches cut off of mine a few weeks ago and I regret it. EVERY time I do that I say that I am not going to do it again....

    I love her! I think you have lovely long locks however and it would be such a pity to cut them. John calls me a cockatoo because when I wake up in the morning my pixie cut is straight up in the air. So sad. Of course, you'll look lovely regardless if you chop!

    i am in the same boat, wanting to go more natural and maybe do a little chop chop! i love golden, darker locks for fall, but it's hard to part with length cause it takes a bit to grow back;(

    You have gorgeous hair already...but short would be cute too. And since you have that pretty wave in your hair naturally you could pull off that look.

    Alexa's hair won't look like that on anyone else...in fact if you really think about it, it doesn't really look that good on her, it's just a passing trend that we will look back on and just go UGH!!!
