what a debacle
so this is how i started the evening...celebrating a sunday of the Oscars with in-n-out burger...have no clue the cringing i was about to endure..
mila looked gorgeous...as did michelle williams, did you see her speaking with a British accent on the carpet??confused.. she looked stunning.
scarlett nailed the hair and make-up and back part of this outfit..she needed to walk backwards all night..the front..not so much.
gwyneth hit it out of the park..love her! love how cute she was during her interview..big applause to you..
and i just adore these saucy, sexy, spanish lovers..
i could go on and on about the fashion snooze fests...halle barry, nicole kidman, and reese..ACK!
but the real reason for this post is to vent about the terrible choice in getting perkalicious anne and stoner james to host..what were they thinking?! this is the Oscars people....not mtv meets nickelodeon award show? ricky gervais must have been rolling around in bouts of laughter. there are so many comedians they could have chosen..ANNE is NOT FUNNY! not in the slightest!
and james...WHAAAA? pull it together..sheesh!
my vote is to get tina fey and amy poehler or ricky g, or robin williams, or heck get billy crystal back..this was a total bamboozzle...
a least my in-n-out was good.

spring
what a whirlwind week!
i am so ready for spring warm sunshine..and i think everyone else is
we are getting dumped with rainfall these past few days...but hoping for pretty days to come.
i feel spring fever all around me and my work is about to "spring" into new stuff very very soon, i will let you know as soon as its live...
i am going to plant some succulents and bulbs this weekend ...i want some peaceful plants around me as i sit indoors..

mahalo
well i am back from vacation in hawaii...i can't barely remember the last time i went somewhere to do nothing...it actually took me a bit to get on island time and shut off..
it was bliss
i could move there...seriously, its a great life..eat good, swim, sunshine..ahhh
this is my friend yertle..isn't she pretty..i would go sit by them and they would flap to the ocean for 2 seconds, get tired fall asleep, then wake up and try again...the life of a sea turtle swim for hours then sunbath all day..i could get used to that..
me chillin with my girl..(i have no idea if she is a girl..she just seemed like it) ohh and i am wearing a *new rikshaw womens sundress..love it! easy breezy
i am putting this picture in here for 2 reasons...
1- i have never seen myself look more relaxed in a photograph in my life, so i think its worth documenting..
2- my fav shirt that i think everyone needs
these are mens jcrew sunbleached lightweight flannel shirts...perfect layer for the spring and summer..super soft and i like the loose cut, over the womens (which is too tapered in for my shape)... love it, shop the men's dept!

routine
just wanted to pop in and say i have missed you...
i have missed my routine every morning drinking my tea, reading my blog roll, getting inspired, squeezing my jumby... then starting my "work" day
tradeshows are a part of my gig and i love meeting new accounts and meeting new friends in the industry, but they are exhausting..heading home ahhh

detox
its that year again when all magazines are flooding with diet tips, change your life in 2 wks, blah blah blah..
i am a sucker for some of the "new year, new me" stuff...to a point...
what does eat mindfully really mean?

take a cyber hiatus? (umm not for me)
i got my hands on the latest Whole Living and i have to say i am pretty hooked!
they are doing this 4week/28day action plan to get fit, eat healthy, and detox your mind.
its laid out simply and organized...
what is really great is all the recipes, telling you calorie counts and has pretty images
(a must for me)

pas de deux
did i ever tell you i used to dance ballet? i got pretty serious into it, was in nutcracker a bunch of years, & swan lake...then 'boys' entered my brain and i was forever distracted and wanted to hang out at school more often than go downtown and take ballet...
(sortta regret that i ever stopped)
gorgeous...to be able to be that flexible again would be so nice
after so many years dancing..at least i will always know the positions, posture, and routines..ahh to be in a tu tu..love..
so i went to see Black Swan Last night...first of all i needed to digest what i had seen before i could comment on it...secondly, i could have done without some of the 'horror' aspects of it
(i laughed at some of those scenes)...BUT i highly recommend it. Natalie portman was so beautiful as was Mila Kunis..
i adored the costumes, her shrugs and leg warmers.. the film really captured the real discipline it takes to be a dancer...
do i dare try and take up lessons again..?

ok i will reflect...
as i peruse the blogroll this a.m i am seeing some really heartfelt sentiments from all you lovely bloggers out there..and it made me think..maybe i need to reflect?..except my memory is pretty poor..so to get a jolt of memory i headed to my iphoto library so i can see visually what happened in 2010...
new years last year was a brett dennan concert, followed by frigid New York for a trade show, celebrated my birthday with amazing girlfriends in Napa
rikshaw's BIG photoshoot for all the children and womens clothing! i was so happy with the results!
once spring/summer really hit it was nothing but shipment after shipment ! and a ton of trunk shows..work was crAzy busy! ohh and my obsession with kombucha reached a new high when they decided to pull it from the shelves..
the summer i took a few trips, one down to southern california and met some fellow bloggers, went to south carolina, and lets not forget the the jack show...lottsa work but got some great beach time
fall marked yet another photoshoot, (lots of the images are getting on the website now!), went to new york and got to attnd the jcrew spring preview show, family came out for thanksgiving, and I had a white christmas in virginia!
whew..we are tired..2010 it was a year of alot of hard work, busy days, new friendships, new places visited...all and all a great year and looking forward to new beginnings in 2011 ! i want to thank you for reading this blog...it has turned out to mean so much to my everyday.... i have loved hearing from you and actually getting to meet so many of you.
onward and upward to a wonderful 2011!!

home for the holidays
well folks, I am off to join the masses en route to visit their families! not looking forward to the shlep of travel i have in store..i will be bundled like the babe above with scarves covering my face on the plane to fend off the germs (ick!) ...BUT i can't imagine being anywhere else other than with my cute nieces and nephews watching them go bonkers over santa gifts!

well my nieces and nephews have grown up...not babies anymore :(
