weekend in review

can you believe its AUGUST! what summery thing have you not done yet?! mine would be picking blue crabs & eating a lobster with lotttsa melted butter like the image above, laying for hours on a beach, swim in some salt water, see my family..all happening this month! whoo hoo!

but i did manage to have a creative filled weekend..here is what went on..

first up the renegade craft fair:
always such creative stimulus overload..a bit pricey on some things..but did enjoy:

meeting jen hewett..and i purchased one of her michelle obama's paper doll books..so cute

these alphabet prints from here..might be using for a photoshoot coming up!

these interesting silk-screened prints..i liked Professor Walrus..he has many more..his shop here

and as i was walking out i ran into thief and bandit and snagged up this great necklace..i love how its long and can wear it into fall!

ohh and i love seeing the cashmere silk screened sweaters by stella neptune..i have some and they are my fav!

next up my review of the movie 'the kids are alright" ...i laughed a bunch and cried..its such a touching film, highly recommend it! and marc ruffalo is a "stone-cold hottie" his laid back, organic gardening, hot n the sheets, bearded character is perfectly acted by marc...and believable!! he may be my new crush...

marc and his wife sunrise have 3 children..and here is one of their bedrooms..
(an all time favorite of mine)

i did hit the alameda flea market too..but i was freezing & overwelmed, didn't have my flea market mojo going on..so it was sort of a bust..except for a vintage navy evening purse..

wow! busy weekend for sure..hope you had a great one..

Sounds like an incredible weekend; I'm jealous! I love that you got the walrus print - so cute and that is one of my all time fave etsy shops. I dig their "eye" pillow. I like to call it "creepy cool". :)
Oh and thanks for the movie tip, I was wavering on that one but I think after hearing your thoughts about it, I really want to see it.

I have to thank you for your suggestion. This was a simply mah-velous weekend. I too, bought so many treasures at the craft fair. Did you see the ceramic nesting eggs with words of inspiration? Or the animals dressed in clothes? I bought pins for each memeber of my family! Thanks again! x Emily

I LOVE the childrens bedroom! So carefree and fanciful...just what childhood should be!

I have been a huge fan and follower of yours for awhile now. I just wanted to let you know that I gave a shout out/mini feature of Rikshaw on my blog http://findingmyaloha.blogspot.com/2010/08/diy-hand-block-printing.html. I know its not as snazzy as many of your other accolades but I hope you enjoy! :)

Almost forgot to mention that HSN and Nate Burkus now carry gold poufs! Just ordered one. Great price. Knew we shared the same love of them.
