which one are you?

lets talk work spaces..whether its a nook in your kitchen or a full office..let me know which option is more you..

choice 1: is your work space..full of stuff, tear sheets, piles of magazines? a few handbags, a random cup of something to drink? my mom always says "a messy desk means a busy desk"..that quote makes me feel good every week i stumble upon my desk looking like a mess..

choice 2: or are you someone who keeps your desk tidy, everything has a place, your inspiration board is organized, your trash can is empty after everyday, your pens are in the pen holder...oh how i strive for my space to look like these..

which one are you my lovely?

I SO want to be the neat one, and at times I am, but also... how inspiring to look at all the stuff in the "not-so-neat" office! I could sit and just take it all in!! I would say I probably is right in between the two :)

Absolutely the messy one. I am always creating something, so there is always stuff around. I am learning to accept this is who I am.

I'm probably more of choice 2 because I'm a teeny bit type A ha! I do love looking at other people's organized chaos though!

Sugar, I got it all! A messy disaster of a desk in the kitchen and a DISASTER of a studio that holds everything from pussy willow branches... cast-off furniture from trashing in the good hoods... sewing machine surrounded by empty cardboard fabric tubes that I can't begin to throw out because I vow to return the empties... ball winder and swift just spinning all by itself... paint cans... Rowan Magazines and Selvedge stacks... yarn... beads... fabric... piles... piles... piles... and did I mention the piles?

I desperately want to have a messy desk filled with inspiration, but no, it makes me a little crazy. Damn it anyways :)

hi! i've been a quiet reader for the past few weeks but thought i'd pipe up. i strive for a clean, organized desk, because i find that i'm more productive. but work gets crazy and my desk ends up topsy turvy in no time. right now, i have a dedicated room as an office, which is great because i work from home, but i'm moving to a teeny house on the beach and will have to set up my desk in either the kitchen or livingroom. i've been searching for inspiration online so that i don't feel quite so bad about the upcoming arrangement! i LOVE your blog, by the way, and look forward to each post. thanks!

I'm so number 1. If I don't see it I don't do it or remember it. I wish I could be contained but cest la vie! If my desk is clear it means I'm totally procrastinating!

I really WANT to be choice number 2, those desks look so pretty...but when I am working hard and at my best, I would say I am definitely choice number 1. It's good to know that I'm not the only messy one!

I am definitely #2, I love the blue poster in the 3rd image! So chic paired with the white desk. Thanks for sharing!

I am most definitely a #1. I just recently left my office to be a stay at home mom. However, I was very lucky to be able to bring my son with my to work for the first 9 months of his life. I had piles and pencil cups all strewn about...But a nifty little pull out that I could use for diaper changes up until about 5 months.

My husband and my best friend are both #2's. I don't know if I think it's better though. Neither of them can simply walk away when they need to. They must stay and work until the desk is neat. Too bad I've left and gone to dinner. (just kidding)

As hard as I try to keep my art studio tidy and organised, it's always the exact opposite! After a while, it gets the better of me and I have a huge clean-up, but it never lasts long. At the moment, the floor is covered in plaster dust and my dog Darcy manages to walk little white paw prints all over my floor. Ah well, I've accepted my messy ways, and from now on I'll be using your mum's quote as my justification! K xx

Self-confessed no. 1, but wish i could be a no. 2. No matter how i try, it always ends up a mess of stacks and piles.
