visual delight

i am a sucker for a pretty stack of textiles..i just recently purchased some of these khadi towels from India. mine has the softest terry on one side, but i have it hanging and have advised "not for use" its just there to hang pretty for me to smile at..

do you have things that are meant to just look at and not use? or am i just weird?

Catherine you clearly know what you are doing with your Canon - these shots are beautiful and i want to curl up with some of that stripey fabric goodness... and YES, I am a big proponent of having things just to stare at. sometimes beauty outweighs function, ya know?

reminds me of my Nanny, she always had pretty monogrammed linens hanging in the bathroom but we werent supposed to use them.
And because of this, I use everything!

when i was younger at christmas i would like to arrange all my gifts just so and just look at everything. that made me the most happy. same with a new box or colored pencils or the free gift bags that Clinque gives out. just looking at everything all perfect and un touched sometimes make me more happy. Weird...I know!

I have my Savon de Marseille hand soap in each bathroom, only to be used for guests (and I don't even like it when my guests use the soap, not that I would admit it to them.). Unfortunately my husband doesn't understand this and probably thinks it's ridiculous. He's actually used the soap as shampoo when he's run out of it in his bathroom. Drives me nuts.
Oh just the look and the smell of my soap just makes me happy.
Let us enjoy our little things in life.

Use it up. Wear it out. Make it do, or do without.
