island style

just some island style essentials that are necessary to feel chill

cute bikini..i like this hawaiian retro style one from here

this saved my hair in the humidity..actually i use it everyday, but smooths up the frizziness
available here

i adore my sarong from Matta..i wear it as a minidress and tie it like a halter behind my neck if that makes any sense..plus the little beads are an added cute detail..

i am not usually into jack rogers sandals..but these have a 'boho-ness" i love..

can't go to any island destination without your rikshaw Kurta! this one will be available on the website in the next week!

love love this african bead jewelry found at my fav...calypso

india island

after getting back from hawaii, i have been non-stop thinking about living the island life.
India Hicks, the model, author, and mother has figured out how to live the good life on Harbour Island.

India is named after her grandfather who was the last viceroy of India, her father is the famed interior designer david hicks, her mother is the daughter of Earl and Countess Mountbattan of Burma & her godfather is prince Charles. She was a flower girl in Charles and Diana's wedding.

Her store, started with Linda Griffin, The Sugar Mill is full of chic finds, a fun souvenier, sandals, bikini's and .......rikshaw design!! We are So thrilled to be a part of the store, I can't wait to visit one day...maybe a trunk show is in order?

India and i tweeted first and then we set up a call..she was so lovely on the phone!

have you all visited India's line at crabtree & evelyn..body polishes, soaps, creams in fragrances like spider lily and casuarina...

her books full of inspiration for island living..

india oh india
my love affair with india has been going on for quite sometime
i think it started when i landed in the middle of the night over that usually hazy(smoggy) sky and the light below is all twinkly like candlelight
then i stepped out of the plane and i thought whats that smell?
"its india" someone said to me
there is so much chaos to digest every time i left the premises of where i lodged, that at times a bit overwhelming on all senses
but, then i got to meet the people, the most courteous and hospitable people i have ever met
they are so warm and have such friendly faces
i love that when you visit the prize taj mahal or Gandhi's museum, there aren't any velvet ropes, you can experience it, you can touch it or walk his last steps with everyone all around you doing the same
i think about those long drives through the brown landscape and see in the distance beautiful fuchsia, lime green, brilliant red and yellow saris blowing in the wind
ohh and i musn't forget the elephants..what a love..
more to come on this affair later..
