creative bloke
back in the day when i was figuring out "what do i want to do with my life"..(which I am still thinking about --sort of) I was inspired to be in visual merchandising= window dresser..one person made me want to create a fantasy for the world walking by..simon doonan, I have most of his books, he is off the charts Witty, irreverent, and FAfafabulous! I lived in NY for a brief time and i remember the windows at Barney's that he created..i feel like it was a giant james brown head made out of bottle caps, i was transfixed!..I found this sweet image of him and his husband the amazingly talented Jonathan Adler..what a pair!

summer thoughts

i guess summer is "officially" here, i have been celebrating it earlier this year for some reason..i had to post the image above, it so reminds me of me. i was the kid with the goggles, that would dive for pennies, sink under everyone and swim by them like some sort of weird eel, and go touch the drain, get freaked out and hurry up to the top so i wasn't sucked in by some scary monster.
the best story was when my mom would come searching for me to go home and i would literally sit on the bottom of the pool looking up at her, in her shift dress and her dr.scholls, pointing at me to get out of the pool, it would take awhile but i would finally have to come up for air, all pruned skinned and water logged..good times..no wonder i am an aquarius.

i have spent the last hour probably perusing through tory burch's website, its like a magazine full of inspiration shots, to trendy "best dressed" women, to her entertaining ideas with menu and wardrobe..
i have found so many things, i am not a big fan of her logo stuff but these goodies were right up my alley..

seaton seahorses
seaton is a store i ran into a couple of years ago in la on melrose and fell in love with their logo and beachy feel clothes..the t-shirts are that vintage super soft cotton, the terry is soft, i bought a gauzey dress i wear all the time and spent way too much on... now its on sale for $40!
i am not sure what is going on in terms of if they are staying in biz..because their sale prices are AMAZING! check it out!!

i just bought a bunch of these at a fair recently..dabney lee's chunky notepad with all the pages printed in fun designs and you can personalize it with the friends initial ect..she also has recipe cards, lucite trays, playing cards..
don't forget who rules most houses, lilly pulitzer printed dog collars from my mascot, calling all prepster dogs!!

summer has landed..the smell of the excursion series archipelago candles are amazing..i am in love with charleston beacause it smells like hyacinth, jasmine, and tuberose..i could eat it!
