relaxin

looking forward to some quiet down time this weekend...summer is winding down, no more travel for me (for a little bit). Its been an amazing summer---time in the south on warm sunny beaches and time in the mountains by the beautiful lake...going to do some yoga, garden, putter around the house, watch movies, eat healthy...hope you have a great one!

and on the subject of chillin out this weekend..Tristan Prettyman's blog and music always does it for me..enjoy!

ok i will reflect...

as i peruse the blogroll this a.m i am seeing some really heartfelt sentiments from all you lovely bloggers out there..and it made me think..maybe i need to reflect?..except my memory is pretty poor..so to get a jolt of memory i headed to my iphoto library so i can see visually what happened in 2010...
new years last year was a brett dennan concert, followed by frigid New York for a trade show, celebrated my birthday with amazing girlfriends in Napa
rikshaw's BIG photoshoot for all the children and womens clothing! i was so happy with the results!
early spring was meeting many new babies that my cute friends had, heading to los angeles to celebrate easter with a dear friend, breaking in "bessie" my bike, and of course playing with jumby
once spring/summer really hit it was nothing but shipment after shipment ! and a ton of trunk shows..work was crAzy busy! ohh and my obsession with kombucha reached a new high when they decided to pull it from the shelves..
the summer i took a few trips, one down to southern california and met some fellow bloggers, went to south carolina, and lets not forget the the jack show...lottsa work but got some great beach time
fall marked yet another photoshoot, (lots of the images are getting on the website now!), went to new york and got to attnd the jcrew spring preview show, family came out for thanksgiving, and I had a white christmas in virginia!
whew..we are tired..

2010 it was a year of alot of hard work, busy days, new friendships, new places visited...all and all a great year and looking forward to new beginnings in 2011 ! i want to thank you for reading this blog...it has turned out to mean so much to my everyday.... i have loved hearing from you and actually getting to meet so many of you.
onward and upward to a wonderful 2011!!

whats next? with Simplified Bee

Cristin's blog, Simplified Bee is full of organizational tips with a clean design sense, i actually feel clean after i read her blog everyday...and i envy how she pulls it all together..here are her suggestions for Rikshaw (and one is already happening mid-May!!)

1. One trend in baby & children's room is a canopy above the bed. Would love to see a not too taylored canopy in a fun Rikshaw print.
2. Love the baby Rikshaw tunics! Why not make them for mommy too?
3. The Morrocan pouf is so whimsical and functional - would love to see some in a Rikshaw print like taj boudoirs monkey print.
Thanks for including me and look forward to see what you come up with.

blog it forward

Victoria aka sfgirlbybay, started a virtual chain letter in the wonderful world of blogs, and has asked over 300 blogs to answer what inspires you?..today is my turn..
i am sitting here staring at the screen..what inspires me is tough, cause its different from what you like..so here goes, hope you enjoy..

1. sunshine..its my remedy to get me moving and feel motivated. I love a rainy day every now and then but sunshine, barefeet..i am content

2. water..i will always need to live near water, growing up on a river, and now living near the pacific ocean..i love that salt air

3. glossies- i am still so sad about domino going under. i get giddy about saving up my mags and indulging in them before bed, during commenrcial of bad tv, on the beach, on the airplane.then going back again and pulling out tear sheets and then finally saving them in magazine files..my first magazine subscription when i was probably 15 was called Model, and i would cover my walls with beautiful images.

4. casual style- i heart casual style with some sort of feminine detail.. this image is perfect her hair is totally casual and the ruffled bottom of the dress is perfection. you can do the same with ripped jeans..and add a bunch of layered necklaces and good to go. i wish i could pull off the lady-like chicness of audrey hepburn, but it feel like i am in a costume when i am all 'pulled together.'

5. eclectic home style- love the mix of vintage/modern, serene/bold, stripes/floral... especially when shown through layers and layers of textiles and amazing styling.

6. love..need i say more?

sunday sentiments

whew what a week its been..thank you all who have now decided to follow the blog, those who have been following the blog, its been so nice having your support!

random sunday thoughts:

* big thanks to the blog-goddesses out there who did a big post on the line launching specifically the city sage, the neo-trad, and wide open spaces...i am sooo complimented that you love the line enough to share with your readers!

*spring forward..i like it..yeah i know everyone loses an hour of sleep, but now everything feels like its supposed to be. jumby eats at normal hours, wakes up at normal hours, and it just means long days of sunshine are around the corner, i am hoping for a burst of motivation to exercise everyday..

*ready for sandals & flops..aren't you?..my feet love them

*liberty for target, i think i may be the only one a bit wary of this launch..after i saw the debacle that happened with john Derians stuff..i am not all that excited, plus i have loved the real deal with liberty, and so does jumby..(she's about to bark at me in this pic)

*have you ever been professionally fitted for a bra? i did this weekend at the breast cancer event at Nordstroms..umm..the lady had the nerve to tell me i am a cup size biGGer than i have been wearing? i almost passed out after punching her! if you got curves...its not fun to hear they are bigger than you thought..

enjoy your day folks!
